about the artist

BIOGRAPHY:
Carrie’s style of painting is in the realm of contemporary realism. She focuses on one subject matter and strives to bring out the details in the subject while evoking a certain emotion. When painting a portrait, human or animal, Carrie’s goal is to bring out the true personality and character of that individual or pet.
She works in oils using a monochromatic palette to lay down her initial forms. She then applies layers of color on top of this underpainting in order to mold the painting into its final form. This technique gives her paintings a sense of warmth, depth and color harmony.
Carrie is the mother of three aspiring hockey players (she does live in Canada after all!) and lives with her husband Byron in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Your paintings are amazing! How could I go about have you do a painting for my precious sharpei Bear? Can you give me an idea of price?
Thank you!
Jeanne
WOW truly beautiful work! I am amazed at the talent and how lifelike the paintings are! The soul of this dog was completely captured by the artist.
Hello,
Your work is outstanding! A fan of hockey art.
what would be the cost of the jackson painting or the afternoon skate?
What is your charge to commision a painting of a pet?
Hi,
I am currently working on an English assignment for high school about convergences. We have to compare two paintings and show how they somewhat connect. I noticed how your painting of the dog portrait looked somewhat like Winston Churchhill and decided to do my assignment on that. You say you try and imagine the personalities of the animals you paint and I was wondering what sort of personality did you imagine the dog having. I love the portrait effect with animals, I think it is really original. As a fellow Canadian I enjoyed your hockey paintings and I loved how in one of your paintings the girl is wearing crocs, it is a neat representation of the clothing we wear today.
hey your work is truely amazing im doing an art assigment i have decided to base it on your wonderful work. cause i know everyone in my class is goin to do someone like vincent van gogh how orignal lol.
